NCR proved to be the undefeated champion as they reclaimed their 2nd consecutive Championship in the Men’s Division, crushing last year’s 2nd runner up Lear with a 1-0 score courtesy of NCR’s Limhar Baunsit. 2008 ECCP Soccer Cup Champions Teletech came in third place with a 1-0 score against Accenture.
Convergys Ladies bested Lear-Opinionolgy-Lexmark and Wipro Ladies after garnering the highest points from the round-robin games, scoring 3-0 in their first match with strikes from Goring Donayre and Karen Oreiro and an own goal from Wipro.
Rene Borromeo Jr. of NCR and Goring Donayre of Convergys were recognized as Most Valuable Players of this Cebu Football tournament by their respective teams.
The ECCP Soccer Cup is an annual inter-company 7-aside Football Festival organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. 19 Mens teams and 3 Ladies teams from the IT-BPO, Hotel and Tourism and Manufacturing sectors participated. It is co-presented by Greenworld LED Solutions and Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar and brought to you by Red Tag, Italkarat 18 and Sedona Parc.
